We are looking for an “Workshop Manager” with minimum 10-15 years of UAE/GCC experience in managing workshop operations, focusing on heavy machinery, trucks and asphalt plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operation Management:
    • Supervise all workshop activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for workshop operations to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Equipment Oversight:
    • Schedule and oversee routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
    • Develop maintenance schedules based on manufacturer recommendations and usage patterns.
  • Site Visits and Troubleshooting:
    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor equipment performance and assess operational needs.
    • Collaborate with project managers to prioritize urgent repairs and equipment needs to support project timelines.
  • Cost Management:
    • Analyze maintenance costs and identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.
    • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for parts and services to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct regular audits of maintenance activities and equipment performance to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Implement corrective actions as needed to address any quality issues identified.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and train workshop staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and open communication.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor project timelines and ensure the availability of equipment to prevent delays in project execution.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on workshop operations, maintenance activities, and equipment status.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of spare parts and supplies, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
    • Implement an inventory control system to track usage and minimize excess stock while ensuring critical parts are on hand.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure all workshop activities comply with health and safety regulations and best practices.
    • Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for all staff to promote a safe working environment.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in workshop management or a similar role, particularly with Roads, Infra and heavy machinery equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maintenance and repair processes for heavy machinery.
